Don't you just love them?

There's no limit to what people would do in order to avoid paying taxes, from running away to a fiscal paradise like Panama (or at least according to Prison Break it is?) and down to claiming to be handicapped or anything of the sorts. But really, who can blame them? Is it the happiest day of your life when you have to go and submit the form and get ready to have money taken away from you and after that to see that whatever it is that they told you they'd do with it doesn't get done? I didn't think so.

Korey Lee from the AdSense Publisher Support just wrote on the Official Google AdSense blog that some tax forms are on the users' way. Not just yet, they'll be mailed on January the 31st but now that you've read this you can already feel them coming, can't you? The form is 1099-MISC and is will be sent only to eligible publishers, only if:

- You submitted a Form W-9, are not a corporation, and were paid at least US $600 in 2007, OR - You indicated that you are subject to backup withholding and had taxes withheld

She had to underline that "If you happen to have your earnings reported on this form, keep in mind that payments dated in 2007 will be reported in 2007. This means that unpaid earnings from 2007 that are rolled over to 2008 won't be included. For example, December earnings which are paid in January won't be included as earnings for 2007."

Don't you just love the personal approach and the tone everybody automatically uses when they're talking about taking money from you? Nevertheless you did agree to this when you scrolled down the page and clicked the respective box so now you've got to pay. Oh, happy day!

P.S.: I almost forgot, the form will be hitting you by mid-February at the latest.
