It appears that the name of the sandals is turning clients away

Marketing experts at Target have come up with the “Orina” sandals, never imagining the implications of the name for the company.

"Urina" doesn't just sound like another word for “pee” in English, but it actually is one in Spanish. As a result, they have been flooded with complaints.

According to the Journal Sentinel, the company has chosen the name, which originates in the Greek word "Irene" because it symbolizes serenity.

"The sandal style was derived from the woman's name 'Orina,' meaning 'peace' or 'peaceful.' Realizing this name could be misinterpreted, we took steps to remove the name from the sandal's in-store signing and on Target.com," press rep Jessica Deede explains.

They have had to pull the shoes from their stores and remove any reference to the brand, both in shops and online.
