Tara Reid, America’s former sweetheart, is reportedly ready to leave rehab

Until less than a month ago, the former “American Pie” starlet was the ultimate Hollywood party girl, and the entire world knew her as such. However, Tara Reid decided it was time for a change and willingly entered the Promises Treatment Center, home to many stars before her, to seek help for a yet unnamed addiction.

Just the other day, People magazine reports, Tara was preparing to leave the rehab center in search for her new life, enjoying all the support of her friends and family, as a source points out. “She’s doing well. The whole family is very positive about this being the new beginning for her,” the spy, who is reportedly close to Reid’s family, tells the mag.

Even if the question of Tara actually completing treatment at Promises is still unanswered (and, even if it were, it would probably not be something her fans would appreciate, given the short stint she spent there), her family and friends are very optimistic about her not falling off the wagon again. “They are taking steps to do everything they can to help Tara keep on the right track,” the same source tells People magazine.

Right before checking into Promises, Tara admitted to being nothing but a “social drinker,” who enjoyed a glass of wine with friends every once in a while, claiming that her partying days were over. This could also be the reason why, at the time, the media speculated her admittance had something to do with drugs or other illegal substances, and not with alcohol.

On related news, just a week ago, word got out that the whole going into rehab thing was just a publicity stunt orchestrated by Promises and meant to attract more attention to the A-list rehab center. Also then, it was claimed that, in order to have her go with the flow, Tara Reid was granted preferential treatment, which included no fees for the entire duration of her stay (which would amount to a pretty hefty sum, bad mouths have it), and no checking of her baggage upon checking in. A spokesperson for the center has refuted all claims in the meanwhile though, saying that Promises is a select rehab center and, as such, it does not need extra publicity to keep afloat.
