Club Sun Color Studios' marketing director is Native American

The owners of a tanning salon have referenced the color of “Indians” to promote their latest offer. They promise to make you as attractive as a Native American for Thanksgiving.

Club Sun Color Studios of Alabama made the PR faux pas. They show what is a tanned Caucasian woman in American Indian costume and a blond female pilgrim, which I guess is supposed to depict a settler.

They dub the Native American woman “Indian” and dress her in a skimpy outfit, as to make her skin color appear more enviable.

The ad has been dubbed racist, but I would add ignorance about races to that accusation. Club Sun's Marketing Director David Arnett has apologized, according to UPI.

Arnett explains that he is Native American and he is not offended by references to his skin color.
