Tamron is well known for their low-cost lenses as well as for a few high-grade lenses similar to Nikon or Canon ones, but at a significantly lower price.
Japanese forum Egami, has just discovered a new patent issued by the Nippon optics manufacturer regarding a new fisheye lens that could come in one of the two patented flavors: a model with a maximum aperture of f/1.8 or a second model with a maximum aperture of f/2.8.
According to this new patent, these lenses are designed to work with APS-C format digital SLRs. Tamron has a few highly praised ultra-wide angle lenses but no actual dedicated fisheye lens, which would make this their first fisheye lens to hit the market.
These lenses won't feature a built-in motor so you won't be able to use autofocus on low-end APS-C camera models such as Nikon D5200 or D3200, but will offer a cheaper alternative to the current more expensive fisheye lenses on the market.
