This new lens might offer an alternative to the bigger 200-500mm telephoto zoom lens

Tamron is one of the major lens manufacturers in the business, offering alternative solutions for the more expensive brand lenses from Nikon or Canon.

The rumor that they are about to announce a new super telephoto zoom lens doesn’t come as a surprise for me or for those who are acquainted with the gear of the Japanese manufacturer.

Judging by the teaser picture found on a Polish forum, this will not be an ordinary all-in-one zoom lens or the previously rumored 16-300mm lens. I find it more likely that this one will be a "serious" lens that could compete with the Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 OS, the Canon EF 200-400 f/4L IS 1.4x or the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR.

I guess we’ll just have to wait until November 7 to find out what the Nippon manufacturer has prepared for us. I’ll keep you posted if any information about this new mysterious lens hits the web before that date.
