Tamron announced the 150-600mm F5-6.3 Di VC USD SP lens back in November in response to the market demand of an ultra- telephoto zoom lens with a longer focal range than the company's current SP 200-500mm f/5-6.3 Di LD SP FEC (IF) optic.
CamAhoy has tested the new lens on a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and posted a few RAW pictures as well as a short video that shows how fast the lens can focus on a given point of interest.
As you can see in the video above, Tamron 150-600mm F5-6.3 Di VC USD SP performs very well thanks to its USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) focus motor.
Besides that, the lens comes with Tamron's latest technologies, including: VC (Vibration Compensation) and eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) Coating that significantly reduces flare and chromatic aberrations.
The latest Tamron optic is now available in Japan and will reach the US market on January 17 at a price of $1,069 / €780.
