More and more countries come forward claiming that China is launching cyberattacks against their systems. The latest on the list is Taiwan, which says it’s creating a comprehensive Internet shield to protect itself against the growing cyber threat from China.

The head of Taiwan’s National Security Bureau has stated that the attacks from China are “very severe,” Asian News International (ANI) reports.

Officials believe the attacks target valuable data, including details on infrastructure, military secrets, and high-tech and business secrets.

The shield that’s being set up by the country is represented by a special unit tasked with protecting the country’s infrastructures. The unit will be coordinated by the Information Security Office.

It’s interesting to note that the report released by security firm Mandiant, which analyzes the Chinese government-sponsored APT1 cyber espionage unit, shows that at least two of the hackers’ targets are located in Taiwan.
