The Tabula Rasa fans that kept asking to be allowed to play alien races will now have a reason to be extremely happy: NCsoft has announced that the latest update for their MMO includes the Hybrids. These are DNA spliced human-alien cross breeds with enhanced attributes and distinct physical appearance and they are, as everybody wants them to be, totally playable.

Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa will now have three human-alien hybrids based on the combination of the Forean, Brann and Thrax with the humans. Still, you will not be able to play any of these hybrids immediately. There are some missions you will have to complete first in order to get your Brann hybrid, for example. The good thing is that each race has its own mission chain to complete, so you will probably spend at least a few hours having fun while getting rewarded with the stuff you wanted since you started to play this MMORPG.

You should know that these hybrid characters have increased attribute points in different areas, like Mind, Body and Spirit, which makes them better than normal humans. For example, a Thrax-Human will have increased physical attributes, which will allow it to absorb more damage. Still, there will be weaknesses, too, so no need to panic - the game balance shall not be lost.

If you would like to see how did these hybrids "come to life", you can download the Hybrid trailer below. Also, have in mind that this update represents the first stage of development, as the Ncsoft promises to add hybrid-specific weapons and armor in the future. Also, the possibility of specific missions for the new playable characters is taken into consideration.

Combining the action of a first person shooter and the immersion of a role-playing game, Tabula Rasa is a MMO that takes the player on an intergalactic adventure where the individual has an opportunity to impact the pace of battle and have "fun" with the invading aliens.
