The upcoming Taipei Computer Application Show will provide the reason

Trade shows don't normally bring about price cuts, because they mostly act as staging platforms for new product releases.

Some are different though, like the Taipei Computer Application Show (TCAS).

The 2013 edition will take place between August 1-5 at the Taipei World Trade Center in Taiwan.

This is more of a special sale than a place for new products to come out.

That is why tablets, like everything else there, will sell for less than usual.

According to Digitimes, the price cuts on tablets will be of 10 to 20%. That goes for both 7-inch and 10-inch slates, plus the ones in between, assuming they make it to the show.

We'll have to wait until the show starts to know for sure how low prices fall though. Too bad you'll have to be there in person to benefit.
