Retailers seem to have been more interested in the smartphone shoppers so far

What would you choose between taking a quick trip to your local retail shop to purchase an item that has caught your attention or just ordering it online from your couch using your tablet.

You’ll probably choose the second variant, after all you save up the gas, time and you get to sit comfortably at home.

A new survey posted by BusinessInsider points out the obvious – people are increasingly using tablets to purchase stuff online. Paradoxically, retailers aren't taking slates seriously yet, with their tablet sites and landing pages being sub-standard.

According to the new info, mobile spending driven by tablets and smartphones has amounted to $30 / €22 billion in 2013, which constitutes 11.4% of the total US e-commerce spending.

Important to note is the fact that tablets are diving most of the sales and they are being used for both high-level research and to finalize purchases.

Tableters have apparently been more receptive to online e-commerce incentives and retailers are expected to pick up the trend and focus more heavily on tablet users than their smartphone counterparts.
