It appears that customers in emerging markets are looking for the all-in-one mobile device capable of suiting all their needs.

DigiTimes has information from sources familiar with the tablet manufacture business, claiming that the demand for 7-inch tablets which also sport calling capabilities will visibly increase.

An affordable price is a must for consumers in developing markets. That’s probably the reason people prefer slates on which you can watch videos and TV shows, while still being able to call your friends and loved ones.

Tablets vendors, who will also equip their offerings with Bluetooth earphones for example, to ease the process of placing a phone call, will certainly rise in the preference of consumers in such markets.

We can see already the success of such hybrids have in certain regions of the world. For example in Taiwan, Samsung offers its Galaxy Tab 2 at the super affordable price of $304. Sources claim that the Galaxy Tab 2 sales worldwide made a big contribution to Samsung’s overall 8 million tablet shipments in several quarters.

Lenovo also offers in China budget tablets with dual capabilities like the A1000 which retails for $118.

As tablet manufacturers get the hang of it, more and more such hybrids will start appearing in developing markets.
