Tigers owned by circuses are often abused and forced to entertain crowds. Luckily for them, TLC singer Chilli has teamed up with PETA, and is doing her best to raise awareness of their suffering.

As part of the organization's campaign against circuses and their treatment of animals, Chilli temporarily parted with her clothes, put on some body paint making her look less like a human and more like a tiger, and willingly put herself behind bars.

The result is the ad featured above. In case anyone was wondering, the ad is supposed to make people think about how horrible tigers in the circus industry must feel when forced to spend hours on end locked away in a cage or performing in an arena.

“There's so much cruelty behind the scenes, which is a something that a lot of people don't get to see. They're being mean to them to make them do this trick. And I think that everybody needs to be aware of what's really going on,” Chilli explained in an interview, as cited by Access Atlanta.

“If you can raise awareness to something that's important, such as this, then you should. Because I know for a fact that I would never want to be in a cage,” she added.

Together with PETA, the singer asks that people help tigers by refusing to go to circus performances that include animal shows.
