Biopic put manager in a very bad light, she plans to sue remaining members of the band

The VH1 TLC biopic that aired the other night, “CrazySexyCool,” was a huge hit with fans but it might get the two remaining members of the group, T-Boz and Chilli, into legal trouble because their former manager Pebbles is threatening to sue them.

The film had T-Boz and Chilli, real names Tionne Watkins and Rozonda Thomas, as executive producers, and they also had script approval. In other words, it was their version of the events and it was pretty obvious that it was.

T-Boz and Chilli never made a secret of blaming their manager Pebbles, aka Perri Reid, for their financial woes, which eventually led them to file for bankruptcy even though they were selling millions of albums at the peak of their career.

TLC became the classic example of bad management: an insanely successful female group that was breaking records and selling albums like hot cakes, but whose three members were barely making ends meet and were heavily in debt.

In the VH1 movies, Pebbles is painted as the bad guy and she’s not happy about it at all, saying on Twitter she’s planning to set things right again.

“I'm NOT here to promote something I put on the MAP and yet have been disrespected because of more reasons than one!” she tweeted after the movie aired.

“I am in shock listening to all this mess and lies on this radio interview!! This is madness!!! It's SO hard to believe this! DO NOT believe...Not going to comment about this anymore on here UNofficially. Dealing with this though,” she continued.

This can only mean one thing: T-Boz and Chilli are in for one heck of a lawsuit. However, they say that they were well within their rights to have their version of the story out there to the fans.

“This story is from our perspective... And we did not lie... We told the truth, and that's how our experience was with her. That's how it was,” they say in a joint statement to Us Weekly.
