Surviving members announce amazing plans for 2012, including new music and a movie

Since Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's revival of Tupac at Coachella 2012 proved such a massive success, the biggest girl group of all times will also be reuniting this year using the same “trick”: TLC will bring Left Eye to life on stage.

The two surviving members of the band have announced their plans for 2012 and, as Billboard can confirm, they include several major projects, including a tour, a new album and a TV series.

On the day that marked 10 years since the tragic death of Lisa “Left Eye,” a publicist for TLC announced the amazing plans – and the fans must be in ecstasy right now.

“In honor of the 20th anniversary of TLC, surviving members Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins and Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas have a new album, a VH1 made-for-TV movie series, and a reunion tour in the works,” Billboard reports.

“A reunion tour may seem unfathomable without the group's late third member, Lisa 'Left-Eye' Lopes, which is why the duo has decided to follow in the footsteps of Dr. Dre and his revolutionary Coachella performance,” adds the same media outlet.

In other words, footage of Left Eye will be projected on screens, creating the impression that she's really on stage, singing – just like with Tupac only days ago.

Left Eye will also be featured on the album, word has it, which means that older recordings will be remastered and her voice will be incorporated in new songs.

“T-Boz and Chilli have announced that in celebration of their anniversary, Left-Eye will be gracing the reunion tour stage through image projections on a big screen – however, the duo intends to use archival footage, not a newly generated digital performance,” Billboard mentions.

The two remaining members of the once incredibly popular band also spoke about Left Eye, saying her death is as painful to them as it was back then, because “you never get over losing a family member.”

Other reports in the media say that venues in 5 major cities have already been booked and more will probably be added soon but, at this point, this is just speculation.
