THQ is preparing to unleash another casual game. It's called Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?: Make the Grade and it's billed as being a direct sequel of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? which apparently brought the company a lot of money.

In Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?: Make the Grade the players will have their knowledge and their intelligence tested by means of questions based on grade-school curriculum. The answers are described as "elementary" by the creators of the game and of the show on which the game is based. Each of the contestants can choose a partner from a gallery of virtual 5th graders to supplement their own knowledge. The game will have 23 subjects and will feature the famous Million Dollar Question. Jeff Foxworthy, who is also the host of the television show, will appear in the game to provide players with the motivation they need to continue playing.

There are various game modes you can try. There's an Academic Academy Mode, which is basically head-to-head with other players, a Flashcards Mode which introduces time restrictions, a Spelling Bee mode that is based on misspelled words and a Homeroom Mode that is basically a virtual version of the television show.

The Wii, the PlayStation 2 and the PC versions of the game will have 6,000 questions while the Nintendo DS version will have 3,000 questions, which guarantees the fact that you will not grow bored with the game too quickly. The interaction with the game show and with the virtual partners that you can get will also guarantee that the game is pretty re-playable.

Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?: Make the Grade will make the grade for the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo Wii, the PlayStation 2, the Xbox Live Arcade service and the PC sometime in October. The TV show goes back on air on September 5.
