Rumored to be launched on August 29, it appears that TELUS BlackBerry Torch 9860 has been postponed for August 30 due to some shipping delays.

According to the guys over at MobileSyrup, an internal document states that the Torch 9860 will be available at TELUS as of August 30, while the recently announced Curve 9360 will be launched on August 26.

However, it looks like the BlackBerry Curve 9360 is already available for purchase from Kodoo Mobile via Best Buy for $300 off-contract or $150 with the Tab.

Other Canadian carriers will launch the Curve 9360, including Virgin Mobile and Bell who already confirmed the release of the smartphone for this month.

There is no information regarding TELUS BlackBerry Curve 9360 price options, but additional details will probably surface in the next few days.

Although both devices are powered by BlackBerry 7 OS, Curve 9360 and Torch 9860 are totally different when it comes to hardware configuration.

While the Torch 9860 if a full-touch smartphone and features a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display, Curve 9360 comes a small 2.4-inch display.

BlackBerry Torch 9860 is equipped with a powerful 1.2 GHz processor in comparison with Curve 9360's 800 MHz processor.

Furthermore, both sport a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, image stabilization, face detection and video recording capabilities.

On the inside, the Torch 9860 packs 8 GB of internal storage, 768 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). Curve 9360 has only 512MB or RAM and 512 MB of internal memory.

Both offer users the full array of connectivity options, including: Push Email, GPS with A-GPS support (BlackBerry maps), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support.

It is expected that both Torch 9860 and Curve 9360 will be delivered with NFC (Near Field Communications) capabilities, but this has yet to be confirmed.
