Announced in June, the collaboration between WildTangent and T-Mobile USA has just been officialized as the WildTangent Games service is going live today.

WildTangent Games service is available for T-Mobile customers who own an Android devices, regardless of the model.

Customers can rent games and purchase them later, or they can even play premium games for free and buy games as soon as they are available.

Several popular games can be accessed via WildTangent's application, including Fruit Ninja, Kona’s Gate and Guitar Hero.

The application can be found in the T-Mobile Mall, in the Game Base channel, and can be accessed by texting “GetWild” to 6255 from any Android phone.

Our curated service gives Android game players choices they’ve never had before to experience games. For years in our online service, these choices have been extremely popular among our millions of players. Let’s face it, most consumers simply can’t afford or don’t want to own every game available. They enjoy variety, so we’re excited to take this model to Android and give consumers a way to play games on their own terms,” said Sean Vanderdasson, senior vice president at WildTangent.

According to WildTangent, more games will be added on a weekly basis. All games can be played for free for a limited time, after watching a short video.

More importantly the games will not be ad-supported and customers can choose to rent any game available for only $0.25 per day, while all money spent on rentals will be applied to any purchases.

Furthermore, virtual currency will be offered by WildTangent in the form of WildCoins, which will be the main currency for rental, in-game items and purchase.

Game developers as well have needed a more fair way to be compensated for the hard work they put into developing great games. This model allows everyone to win since developers benefit from advertising and rental revenues,” concluded Vanderdasson.
