T-Mobile has started shipping the S6 Edge before April 10

Well, well, that didn't take long. T-Mobile started taking orders for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge a few days ago (on March 27), and since then, it even shipped out a few units ahead of the official April 10 launch.

One would expect customers to be jumping for joy because they are getting the flagship phones earlier, but this doesn't seem to be the case. A developing thread on the xda-developers forum brings to our attention that some of the Galaxy S6 Edge units T-Mobile shipped out arrived with some problems.

T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge plagued with issues

Customers are complaining about chipped displays and even dead pixels. One user who purchased the 128GB model of the device noticed the issues right off the bat, so he contacted T-Mobile and managed to get the item replaced.

He then purchased another item from the same carrier, only to find that the new Galaxy S6 Edge had the same problems.

There are multiple reports attesting that the Galaxy S6 Edge seems to come with scratches out of the box, but a clear reason for why this is happening can't be found in the thread.

It's possible that the units got damaged during transportation, when Samsung shipped the models from South Korea. Or maybe something else went wrong.

Are we dealing with a widespread issue?

T-Mobile shipped these units before the official launch, so it's unclear if we're going to see the same issues plague the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge when they make it out on the market globally.

But when the products start shipping out throughout the world, we'll be able to get an idea whether or not we're dealing with a widespread issue or just an isolated incident involving a limited batch. Hopefully, the latter scenario will turn out to be true.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge a few weeks ago during a grand event in Barcelona at MWC 2015. The two phones are widely regarded as Samsung's best efforts to date, but it remains to be seen if the real-life products manage to completely satisfy customers or not.
