T-Mobile USA and Motorola have recently decided to drop the prices of the handsets they offer to North American users. Therefore, most of T-Mobile's Motorola phones can now be bought for 50% less than their original prices, if acquired together with a contract agreement for two years.

The handsets that are now more affordable are: Motorola ROKR E8, Motorola RAZR2, Motorola RAZR V3 and Motorola W490. The Motorola-built Sidekick Slide is also said to come for 50% less, but for the moment the QWERTY phone is out of stock (on T-Mobile's website at least, because you might still find it in retail stores across the US).

The coolest thing about the new T-Mobile price offering is that the ROKR E8 was included in it. Released by the fourth largest US carrier just a few weeks ago, the E8 had a price of $199 with a two-year contract agreement. Now the handset can be bought for only $99 with the same contract options.

Sporting a fashionable design, Motorola ROKR E8 is one of the latest Moto handsets released in the US and it's targeted towards young users who need advanced music features. The phone comes with 2GB of internal memory, a touch-sensitive navigation pad, high-end sound quality, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a 3.5mm headset jack, stereo FM radio, Web browser, email and a 2 Megapixel camera - all in a candybar case that measures a mere 10.5 millimeters in thickness.

Besides E8, the new $99 price of RAZR2 is also quite attractive, although this handset is not as new as the previously mentioned one and users might not be so interested in buying it anymore.

Along with Motorola, other major handset manufacturers have decided to drop the prices of their phones too. Nokia, for example, now offers lots of its music and multimedia devices for about 10% less, while Samsung has reduced 50% from the prices of its phones sold in Canada via Bell Mobility.
