Not too high

Ubisoft has announced the minimum hardware requirements that PC players will have to meet if they are planning to play the all new, reinvented Prince of Persia. The developers have only released a minimum set of specifications as they say that “there are no recommended specs as basically anything you have over this will run it nicely”.

Besides having the obligatory Windows XP or Vista operating system, you will need to own a dual core processor, either a 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium D or an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+. If you plan to use XP, you need just 1 GB of RAM while 2 GB are required when using Windows Vista. The video card you use needs 256 MB of video memory and comply with the requirements of DirectX 9.0 or 10.0, with processors like ATI Radeon X1600, 1650, 1950, HD 2000, 3000 or NVIDIA GeForce from the 6800/7/8/9 series. You can also choose to play Prince of Persia using an Xbox 360 controller on a PC.

The game needs 8 GB of hard drive space to install and if you have Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed installed, the game will only occupy 4 GB. The reason is the fact that the same graphics engine is used in both releases.

The new Prince of Persia is a very different game from the Sands of Time series. The look of the game will be less slicker, more cell shaded, while the action will be more oriented towards boss battles as the Prince travels the lands trying to undo an evil corruption. Ubisoft is saying that the current Prince is inspired more from Persian legends and will also have a woman companion, which will be more acrobatic than him. The game will launch on the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 on December 15.
