More precisely, the SecurePad puts together the LiveFlex fingerprint sensor with a Synaptics TouchPad, offering notebook OEMs a single integrated biometric interface module that is meant to simplify the integration for the developers.
You must only touch the LiveFlex sensor (that will be featured inside a durable plastic surface) and the system will immediately identify you as the user. Consequently, you will not have to remember all the passwords and usernames required by several applications. Furthermore, the surface of the Validity sensor provides superior resistance to general chemicals, liquids, abrasion, and impact, which are all dangerous factors for notebook use in real world environments.

As it is meant to be integrated by as many notebook developers as possible, the SecurePad is fully compatible with several biometric software applications, including Softex Incorporated's OmniPass and Phoenix Technologies' Biotrust Windows application with TrustedCore PreBoot Authentication (PBA) software.
