Surprising absolutely no one, SyFy has confirmed that they’re in serious talks to see if a sequel to “Sharkado” is possible, Slash Film reports. However, nothing is set in stone for the time being.

“Sharknado,” about a natural catastrophe that makes a tornado dump living sharks upon the good people of Los Angeles, premiered last week and became a hit almost instantly, mostly thanks to solid word of mouth on Twitter.

Now, a sequel is (most likely) under way, though network officials are shying away from confirming anything yet.

“We’ve had a lot of meetings, emails. I’m not being coy, [but] that’s obviously being talked about,” SyFy executive Thomas Vitale says.

“[T]here’s nothing going to be announced now just because we haven’t had real discussions with the real people we have to talk to about that,” Vitale adds.

In case you don’t know what to expect, above is the trailer for the original.
