Hide yo kids, hide yo wives and brace yourselves, because another tornado dumping live sharks is coming your way. SyFy hit the jackpot with last year’s “Sharknado,” a film as silly as it sounds, and it’s now gearing up to air the sequel.

Meanwhile, it’s been secretly toiling on a third installment which, according to AdWeek, will premiere in the summer of 2015. I do believe this is the beginning of a very beautiful relationship between SyFy and those killer sharks. And Ian Ziering and Tara Reid too.

The 2013 film starring these two was made on a relatively modest budget of $250,000 (€180,024) and kept a secret until shortly before its air date. Considering that it told the story of a group of friends trying to survive in the middle of a live shark-carrying tornado, it’s no wonder the network tried to avoid public ridicule until the last moment.

However, when the film aired, something strange happened: it went viral. Thanks to social media, “Sharknado” became the hottest topic online, with interest in it refusing to fade even days after it aired. Memes were born, parodies were made, and there was an air of heart-warming general merriment.

“Sharknado: The Second One” will air in July and will see Ziering and Reid reprise their parts, but will also include new additions Andy Dick, Kelly Osbourne, Vivica A. Fox, Judah Friedlander, Judd Hirsch, and Mark McGrath.

The third “Sharknado” film will probably bring Reid and Ziering back, along with whoever else survives from part deux.
