The newest trailer for Perfect World's upcoming martial arts-based free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game Swordsman has just been released, showing three of the ten in-game classes gamers will be able to play as.

Swordsman is based on the written works of Louis Cha, whom fans might also know as Jin Yong, and the game will explore the massive and engrossing world of martial arts, offering players the chance to master fighting with one of 10 different classes, in a historical setting during the Ming Dynasty era.

The new short trailer offers a taste of things to come, showing gameplay footage of three of the classes in Swordsman in action, the Wu-Tang, Sun and Moon and House Tong.

The Wu-Tang are masters of Taoism, who combine inner force and physical strength in order to become the ultimate group fighters. They specialize in swinging massive two-handed blades with unparalleled ease, supplementing the raw physical damage with various effects that buff and heal both themselves as well as their entire group of allies.

The heretical disciples of the Sun and Moon Cult are deadly assassins, benefiting from incredible mobility and very heavy damage. Their weapons of choice are twin blades linked by chains, and they specialize in single-target damage, being able to attack both in close quarters as well as at a considerable range.

Their powers are of a more sinister nature, as they can steal away their foes' lives force while battling, and then imbue both themselves and their allies with it.

The members of the House Tong, unlike other martial arts schools, prefer to rely on guns rather than on blades. The Tongs run a family-like school, and are famous for their employ and accuracy of thrown weapons and guns, and for using traps to keep enemies at a distance and continue the fight from afar.

The masters of gunpowder provide heavy damage in group combat situations, and their quick movement and high attack speed make them an excellent kiting class, as well as a surefire way to frustrate an enemy.

Players interested in finding out more about Swordsman or in applying for the beta can head over to the official site and register for free. The game is currently in closed alpha, but the closed beta test is scheduled to take off soon.

Perfect World is also working on some other online games of a rather massive nature, such as Dungeons & Dragons-inspired Neverwinter, Star Trek Online and Blacklight: Retribution.
