As if the Wiimote and its motion sensitivity feature wasn't enough to get people lifting their eyebrows with interest and intrigue, FRYS.com has up for sale the ultimate Wii hack and slash controller: the Asid Tech Sword and Shield kit, retailing for $29.99. Click on the picture to your left for a better look at the...thing.

The description says: "Bring your gameplay experience to the next level with the Asid Tech Sword and Shield kit. Play Zelda like never before! Place your Numchuk in the shield and Wii remote in the sword and fight your way to the next level. - Kit includes: Sword - Shield - Knife." The site also recommends the "Zelda" Sword & Shield for the Wii, as if the manufacturer could have missed a Zelda customized model...

It looks like Zelda gamers are the only ones benefiting from it for now. Anyway, to my surprise, this is all they say about it. No gameplay improvements mentioned, no pathetic epithets like "stunning," or "lightning fast," or that all too well known phrase going "...for the ultimate gaming experience...." (God I hate that one!). I swear I wouldn't mind reading stuff like this even if it had been boring, as long as I got some good information on the sword and shield controller/s for the Wii.

Wouldn't you want to know what it weighs, how it works and whether it's dangerous or not to get it for your kid, if you're going to pay 30 bucks for it? I reckon you would. Oh well, guess we'll have to wait and see if anyone wrecks the TV set and furniture with it to know if it's alright to buy it.
