Unveiled at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show back in January, TouchType's SwiftKey for Android tablets has just gone gold. The new application has been designed in partnership with Google and Motorola, to coincide with the launch of the Xoom tablet.

Dubbed as the first Android Honeycomb tablet, Motorola Xoom was recently introduced along with a wide range of specifically designed applications.

SwiftKey Tablet has all the power of our next generation Fluency prediction engine, integrated with a completely redesigned interface, optimized for Honeycomb. To look at, this is a really exciting product - and once you try it, you'll be blown away,” said TouchType Co-Founder and CTO, Dr Ben Medlock.

According to TouchType, SwiftKey uses the patent-pending Fluency Prediction Engine which makes typing on tablet devices easier and faster by offering intelligent next-word predictions which are personalized to users’ writing style.

In this regard, SwiftKey features the ability to analyze online Gmail, Facebook, Twitter or blog profiles using advanced cloud-based technology to learn how a user writes. Based on the results, the application will try to match the typing experience to make it more personal and accurate.

We've worked closely with Google to make sure SwiftKey Tablet utilizes the power and flexibility of the new Honeycomb OS, and we believe that it really enhances the experience. Fluency applies patent-pending AI technology to predict around a third of words before a single character is entered. This is boosted by learning algorithms that observe how you write your email, blog, Facebook and Twitter updates, and these continually adjust as you type to become more accurate,” continued Medlock.

SwiftKey has been tailored to fit larger screens and thumb-optimized for Android Honeycomb devices.

The application will be delivered with keyboard layouts specifically designed to improve and enhance text typing within the Honeycomb environment, with a holographic theme, custom skinning, as well as a special “thumb layout” to make two-handed typing easier.

SwiftKey for Android tablets is available for a limited time for a sale price of $1.99 on the Android Market.
