Turbine has released a new character trailer for Infinite Crisis, this time around teasing the upcoming introduction of the Swamp Thing.

Infinite Crisis is a multiplayer online battle arena game trying to do its best against the behemoths of the genre, Valve's Dota 2 and Riot Games' League of Legends. However, Turbine's effort has an ace up its sleeve, in the form of the highly popular DC Comics universe.

The MOBA enables players to take on the role of a superhero and engage in the typical, three-lane back-and-forth action, complete with minion farming, tower pushing, ambushes and surprise attacks; in a nutshell, everything that makes the genre so great.

The latest addition to the roster of playable characters is Dr. Alec Holland, better known by his stage name, Swamp Thing. An explosion drenched him and the plants in his laboratory in a top-secret chemical, turning him into an eco-friendly abomination.

He will show up in Infinite Crisis on December 17, enabling everyone to use the nature-powered hulk to lay devastation to their enemies. He is generally good at chasing enemies, with a bit of setup using husks and his slowing abilities.

Skills to pay the bills

Swamp Thing is an enforcer benefiting from a high degree of regeneration and shielding abilities, and who can use husks to gain map awareness and assist his team.

His passive ability, Bio-Regenerative Formula, enables him to heal back some of the damage he receives, over time.

Vine Leash shoots a vine that deals damage and attaches to the first enemy hit, offering Swamp Thing a slight move speed bonus. The effect can stack up to two times, and if an enemy is hit with both vines, they become rooted for a short duration.

Husk sends a husk to a target location, granting vision of the area. Once the husk in position, Swamp Thing can use the spell again to channel and teleport to the destination, consuming it.

Earth Strike delivers a powerful blow to a target area, knocking enemies near the center in the air, and knocking them sideways if they are caught near the outer edge of its radius. Enemies caught in the area of effect become slowed for a brief time.

Swamp Thing's ultimate ability causes him to transform into the Warrior King, granting him immunity to slowing effects and imbuing him with bonus attack speed. In addition to this, his regeneration ability is greatly increased, and his basic attack deals additional splash damage to enemies in a radius.
