Music definitely makes the world a better place, but not when it kills a great part of the global tree population in the process of manufacturing guitars. C.F. Martin & Co., an eco-conscious company proves there are several alternatives for enterprises operating in this line of business.

The guitar maker from Pennsylvania proves rock music is also keen on embracing green values. The C.F. Martin & Co products are made of FSC-certified Sapele wood and a new line of recycled materials only come to improve their eco-conscious attitude displayed since 1990, Earth911 reports.

This is when the team first started using domestic woods, like maple, cherry or walnut, in order to minimize their ecological footprint. They didn't want to threaten wildlife forests, so they kept looking for sustainable alternatives. At this point in time, recycled wood coming from former Canadian bridges appears to be the smartest option.

The quality of their products isn't affected and natural forests still stand a chance to survival. Manufacturers guarantee that music coming out from green instruments sounds better.
