NDS really likes to think big, not that we're totally shocked at the idea

If it's a glimpse of the future you want, NDS has just the thing: a living room wall that doubles as a TV.

Granted, it would be more accurate to say that several LCD panels were set on the wall in a grid, forming a prototype of the “Surfaces” project.

Using a second display device, like a tablet, people can manage a sort of picture in picture functionality.

It is possible to have a show take up the whole wall, or just a part of it. Widgets can be added too, wherever the owner wants.

One can even pre-define setups for different times of the day or specific family members, or both. At least, this is the idea.

The truth is that Surfaces will not be fast in arriving. One reason is the gargantuan cost and the other is that providers of TV content will have to start broadcasting in 4K resolution first.

It is speculated that five more years have to pass before Surfaces becomes a commercial product.
