14 DAY TRIAL // South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is reportedly the company that will bring to the market the next Google phone, which will be called Nexus Prime, and some more evidence of handset's existence has just emerged. Rumor has it that the next Google phone might sport the model number GT-i9250, and a support page for this handset was already spotted on the web.
Only recently, Samsung confirmed the existence of Nexus Prime via a cease and desist letter they sent out to a website that offered for download leaked Samsung firmware.
Since the said support page is already up, chances are that the handset itself is getting close to its availability date, although no official confirmation on this has emerged until now.
The Nexus Prime was rumored not too long ago to be on its way to the market sometime in October, with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS flavor on board.
It should pack a 4.5-inch or larger touchscreen display, capable of delivering a 1280 x 720 pixel HD resolution, along with a dual-core application processor, with each core clocked in at 1.5GHz.
In addition to these hardware specs, the mobile phone will also include some of the latest advancements on the mobile market, making it worthy of being called a Google phone.
What's interesting to note is that the smartphone is expected to arrive on the market at the same time with another Samsung device, the DROID Prime, which was rumored only recently to be on its way to Verizon's network.
Sporting model number SCH-i515, the DROID Prime is said to be available exclusively on the airwaves of Verizon, and to arrive in October with the next version of Android on board.
While no confirmation on the matter emerged so far, chances are that the two are, in fact, the same device, differentiated by only a small number of features. Hopefully, more on this will emerge soon, so stay tuned.
