CW’s “Supernatural” series was initially scheduled to end last year but, in a happy turn of events, it looks like it will get a seventh season as well, even though the sixth is not yet over. Producers are confident it will happen, new reports indicate.

Starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as two brothers battling the forces of evil, the series has enjoyed constant success in ratings, thanks to the support of a very loyal fanbase.

The two actors and other members of the staff were at a panel meeting on Sunday, to talk of the remaining episodes of season 6 – which, as a side note, they promise will be great.

Among other things, producers also dropped several major hints that a season 7 will also happen, even though official confirmation of it is still pending.

In fact, they’re so confident the Warner Bros. drama will be picked by CW for another season, they’ve even allowed themselves to put in a few cliffhangers in the season 6 finale, they say, as cited by E! Online.

“We’re looking pretty good. We’re bullish enough on it that we cliffhang the finale,” creator and executive producer Eric Kripke says.

Sera Gamble, who is the executive producer, agrees, saying that no all questions will be answered in the finale of season 6, thus leaving more than plenty of room for another season.

“I feel an obligation to answer a fair amount of questions, but also to cliffhang some stuff for next season. We have some stuff cliffhanging at the end of season six, so hopefully, knock on wood, we have a season seven,” Gamble says.

While thinking of a possible 7, producers strove to make the season 6 finale one of the best of the series so far.

And they succeeded in doing so, Kripke says. He is also credited as screenwriter for the finale.

“I’d actually say my favorite thing [in the finale] is the final minute. Stay tuned for the final minute. It’s one of those moments where the more you stop to think about it, the more you feel the enjoyment of the writer, looking at what he's doing and going, ‘I can’t believe I got away with that’,” he says.
