If you wear this weather/bullet/stab-proof jacket

It's a dangerous world out there, and the truth of the matter is that you never know when you might get into trouble, without even looking for it. That's why self-defense devices are becoming increasingly popular these days, and one of the most serious and useful such things is the black weatherproof disguised bullet/stab-proof jacket presented by a company called PDL (a.k.a. Spycatcher of Knightsbridge), which, according to the retailers, is actually capable of protecting its wearer against stabs and even gun shots.

On the outside, this very interesting piece of clothing looks exactly like an everyday black jacket (and not even a very trendy one, for that matter). It's made out of 100% polyester canvas with PU-coating on the reverse and features a waistband with a pull-chord and velcro fastening at the sleeve ends, as well as a detachable hood. Moreover, the thing is extremely lightweight, weighing just around 3 Kilos, which is really a record in this area, since most bulletproof vests are a lot heavier.

And speaking of bulletproof, let's see what this jacket can do against gunfire. Thus, the internal armor protects its user against 9mm Full Metal Jacket Round Nose (FMJRN) projectiles, with a weight of 8gm (124gr) at 430 m/s, Full Metal Jacket Round Nose (FMJRN) type DM11A1B2 (DN or MEN) projectiles with a weight of 8gm (124gr) at 415m/s, 44 Magnum jacketed Soft Point (JSP) type Norma 11103/61103 projectiles with a weight of 15.6gm (158gr) at 390 m/s and 44 Magnum Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP) projectiles with a weight of 15.6gm (240gr) at 430 m/s.

Moreover, as mentioned before, this jacket can withstand stabs, cuts, slashes with sharp and blunt edged weapons like hypodermic needles, ice picks, knives and broken bottles, as long as the applied force doesn't exceed 25 Joules. The "assault-proof" jacket is available for around $2450 (1840 Euro), which is not even that big a price, considering the fact that it could actually save your life at some point (if it really works as advertised, of course).

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
