Nice try!

This must be the finest challenge a gadget freak could dream of. Why? Well, basically, because you cannot see this happening on the streets of your hood pretty often.

The Father of All Supercars, a.k.a. Lamborghini, has recently pitched its Revent?n against a Tornado aircraft in an acceleration race at Ghedi military airport last week, Gizmag reports. And yes, as you probably imagined, it lost. But what a fight... the adrenaline... what an anger... The most impressive things of all were the shots after, which built quite a panoramic view about the whole thing, without needing extra comments.

As Gizmag puts it, the gorgeous 650 HP, 12-cylinder Revent?n took the early lead on the 3000 m-long runway before being overtaken and flown over by the mighty super Tornado in the last few meters as it "reached speeds in excess of 340 kmh (211mph)." And, boy, that should have been something worth to be seen.

The reason behind this extraordinary race was that of the design idea, courtesy of the Centro Stile Lamborghini. Apparently, they got inspiration from the world of modern aviation. Ain't that cool?

The Murci?lago LP640 is entirely based on the Revent?n. It retains the classic twelve-cylinder engine with 6.5 liter displacement and 650 HP (478 kW) at 8,000 rpm with torque equal to maximum 660 Nm, robotized e.gear changes and a permanent Viscous Traction four-wheel drive system, while acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is said to take 3.4 seconds with a maximum speed over 340 kmh. This baby burns rubber, all right!

The car was officially introduced to the masses during Frankfurt Motor Show in September, when the company chose Ghedi military base to present the Lamborghini supercar to international TV networks.

And if you're loaded enough to get one of these exclusive supercars, it's not too late, as only 20 of the 1 million Euro vehicles are to be built and delivered in 2008? but they are all sold. Is it that guy from Dubai again? Thanks Gizmag fellows for the shots!
