Nintendo is one of the biggest companies active in the video game industry, thanks to its extremely popular consoles, the Wii and DS, and due to the big number of high-grossing franchises like Mario, Zelda or Metroid Prime.

But one of the biggest recent titles is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which was released last year and became a hugely successful title for the Nintendo Wii, thanks to its great fighting mechanics and the large number of characters, all from extremely popular games, not only from Nintendo-made ones. However, another important factor that made it very popular with fans was that it featured user-generated stage designs and replay data, which could be shared via the Internet.

But now Nintendo has revealed on the game's official website that at the end of this month the service, which accepts screenshots, stage designs and replay data, will cease to function. This means that anyone who wants to share their accomplishments with all of the other Wii owners will have to do it fast.

“As of June 30th, 2009, the current service that accepts user-generated snapshots, stage designs, and replay data will no longer be available,” reads the official announcement on the game's website. “Please note, however, that we will continue to distribute such data after that date.”

The Japanese company offered no reason for this move, especially since it will make a lot of owners of the game quite sad to see that an important and very hyped-up part of it will soon disappear from the package.

Look forward to more details about this move in the weeks to come. Until then, you'd better finish up creating those levels and taking the screenshots you wanted in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and upload them by the end of the month.
