They might make millions of dollars every time they appear in the press, on TV or out in public, but that doesn't mean that today's power couple, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, are loose with their finances.

Following the old adage that you get rich by spending, Kim and Kanye reportedly blew millions on their Italian wedding, but refused to foot a $20,000 (€14,709) bill for the time they spent in an Irish medieval castle turned luxury retreat for their honeymoon. Radar claims that the couple is only generous when they know the entire world is watching. Off camera, they immediately turn into the stingiest persons alive. The reason why they didn't pay up for the castle in Limerick, Ireland, was because they only spent a few hours there.

One source reveals the couple began complaining after dinner that the accommodations were “too big” and that the phone reception was very bad. That very same day, they checked out and moved into a smaller venue, the Ballyfin House in Co Laois.

The trouble with that move was that the hotel had already spent an impressive sum of money in anticipation of its celebrity guests’ arrival and to satisfy their over-the-top requests. Presumably, these were demanded in advance, and knowing Kanye's reputation, the hotel didn't hesitate to make the purchases beforehand in order to avoid the rapper's wrath.

The problem came when Kanye reversed the deposit on his American Express card, thus effectively taking back his money and leaving the hotel with a big hole in their budget. The insider reveals the scale of this fiasco, “Everyone is shocked to say the least. The castle is out a fortune on their honeymoon. It is absolutely awful.”

It turns out that the celebrity couple requested expensive foods and champagnes, as well as chandeliers in every room. The hotel dutifully complied, knowing that the power couple was going to reimburse them at the end, but they didn't expect the celebrity guests to skip the bill and take back their deposit.

The damage Kanye and Kim have left behind doesn't only limit to the hotel that made the purchases, but also extends to the local businesses that provided the products and are now left to cover the expenses for themselves.

The first victim of the scandal didn't take too long to appear. As the source describes, “A member of staff based in the United States was fired for booking them into the venue.”

Finally, the source exclaims despairingly, “We’re talking about one of the richest couples in the entertainment business refusing to pay the bill for their honeymoon. It would have been a dream honeymoon for anyone else in the world, and they should just have the decency to pay their bill.”
