Nintendo is raising the hype around its 3DS console, ahead of the pretty big price cut that will enter in effect tomorrow, and, since that announcement, has confirmed "unofficial" release dates for two of the biggest games coming this year to the handheld platform, Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7.

Nintendo surprised quite a lot of people in late July, when it confirmed that its recently released 3DS handheld console was getting a price cut of around 30 percent, cutting the price tag from the initial $249.99 to just $169.99.

Alongside that announcement, the Japanese company also confirmed that some big games are coming this year for the 3DS, including already known titles like Star Fox 64 3D or Kid Icarus: Uprising, but also all-new games like Super Mario 3D Land or Mario Kart 7, not to mention a new Pokemon game.

The company has now talked recently with MTV Multiplayer and seemingly confirmed release dates for the all-new titles, more specific ones than the loose "end of 2011" they got in the first announcement.

According to the website, Pokemon Blast will be out on October 24, while Super Mario 3D Land appears on November 13, and Mario Kart 7 on December 4, respectively.

Shortly after the news broke, Nintendo representatives highlighted that these release dates are unofficial, saying that 3DS owners can expect the games in those specific months, but concrete launch dates can't be made public just yet.

Besides the full pledged games mentioned above, Nintendo is also getting ready a batch of high quality retro titles, from the NES or Game Boy Color generations, which will be available as downloadable titles from the console's eShop online store.

20 of these games will be given out for free to all the current 3DS owners who bought the console when it was first released, at full price, as a token of appreciation from the Japanese company that wants to make everyone happy with the price cut.
