A woman from Hong Kong has been dubbed "Super Ironwoman" after jogging, rescuing a dying man, then resuming jogging.

Louise Chow's adventurous jogging session took place while the Hong Kong typhoon was in full-fledged frenzy.

She was running on the waterfront on Wednesday, August 14 when she saw a man in the water struggling and appearing to be drowning.

Bangkok Post has reported how Chow quickly dived in to save him. Crowds watched as the rescue took place in Victoria Harbour.

Chow is a swimming coach and she was swift to get undressed and jump in the water, disregarding her own safety.

Local news outlets informed that 100 kilometers (62 miles) an hour winds made waters particularly dangerous that day. Typhoon Utor hit Hong Kong on August 14, bringing with it high winds and rough waters.

“I don’t know why I suddenly had such an urge to take off my shoes and socks, and then I dived in,” Chow revealed after the rescue.

She brought the unnamed 24-year-old man to shore only to find out that he had tried to take his own life.

“He said, ‘I’m dying, I’m dying…. I have nothing now, I came to Hong Kong alone, I have nothing,” Chow described.

She waited alongside him as EMTs arrived at the scene. Medical reports later showed that the Shenzhen man had an extensive history of medical illness and has previously been committed to a clinic.

First responders also attended to Chow, who had cut herself on oyster shells. However, she only suffered minor cuts and was able to resume her jog once paramedics had taken the man away.

He has been transported to a local hospital and he is now in stable condition. Residents have mentioned Chow coming to the rescue of divers in Hong Kong before.
