Sun Microsystems has introduced the JavaFX Mobile software system in order to improve the flexibility of the mobile system. It is based on the Java platform and comes as an improvement for faster, better, more reliable applications.

On the occasion of the JavaOne conference, Sun has presented their concept of the JavaFX Mobile. The software is actually designed to run on any mobile device and is meant to match the high capabilities provided by a PC. During the conference, Sun showed its audience a mobile phone prototype equipped with JavaMX in order to make it clear what the new application has to offer in terms of graphical interface and usability. Java is currently found on more than 1.8 billion cell phones, which makes it an extremely viable environment for further expansion. JavaFX Mobile brings, moreover, more functionality and integrated APIs. Moreover, it allows applications to communicate faster and provides a more advanced functionality of the mobile phone.

This new Java release also comes to help developers create richer content for devices enabled with these capabilities. "A few years ago, these were a very small percent of devices", said Rich Green, Sun's executive vice president for software. Now, the number of phones that use Java for their applications has highly increased and also turns out to be highly profitable for Sun Microsystems.

JavaFX Mobile software combines the application and operating system with reduced integration costs and less time until it reaches the market. It is addressed especially to the more evolved phones, capable of Internet browsing, email, taking photos and playing music. Taking into consideration that the number of cell phones capable of such performances increases with technology development, Sun's new release will prove itself useful for many mobile phone users.
