There’s little doubt that Windows 7 is getting more than its fair share of love out there, with Microsoft citing double the number of sold licenses compared to that of Windows Vista in the first month on the market. In the UK, the software giant has tapped local girlband the Sugababes for a special promotion built around Windows 7. The best place to get started along and get a chance to win the prizes that the Redmond company has reserved is the Sugababes Love Windows 7 website.   But, by no means is the Windows 7 promotion a coincidence. The girls’ latest album is titled ‘Sweet 7,’ and believe it or not, it’s their 7th album. At the same time, Microsoft is apparently nowhere done with 7-related Windows 7 marketing stunts, so the collaboration with the Sugababes is a match made in heaven.

First of all, the Sugababes Love Windows 7 website is the “The only place to win Jingle Bell Ball tickets online. Just like Windows 7 is making your PC simple to use, we’re making it simple for you to win tickets to the Ball with our amazing online giveaways,” Microsoft stated. “We have exclusive tickets to give away daily and you could even win yourself a chauffer driven car, stay in a fantastic hotel a stones throw away from The O2 for BOTH JINGLE BELL BALL SHOWS and you could even get to meet a Jingle Bell Ball artist BACKSTAGE!”

But of course, there’s more. Microsoft is also offering laptops to the lucky end users that will be deemed winners after answering a simple question: “What does Windows 7 new media streaming feature allow you to share?” Participant that haven’t exactly kept up to date with Windows 7, or that are unfamiliar with the operating system, will find links to content related to the OS, designed to help them get a tad cozier with Windows Vista’s successor. And then, there’s the MY IDEA GIG.

“The Sugababes have teamed up with Windows 7 to make it simple for you to win an amazing night to remember, with an intimate performance from the girls for you and your mates. We want to hear your ideas for your perfect gig with the girls, so get entering,” Microsoft stated. “Simply fill out your details and tell us your gig idea - what the occasion is, when you’re planning it for, where it’s taking place, what you would love the girls to sing and why you would like the Sugababes to appear.”
