Goichi Suda, the game developer best known to players as Suda51, says that his team is still interested on creating games for the Nintendo made Wii U and envisions a future where platforms become less important than the actual experience a title can deliver.

NintendoLife quotes the developer as saying that he enjoyed creating titles like No More Heroes on Nintendo devices and might do so in the future as long as it finds an interesting idea to explore.

He says, “It’s a possibility. I guess we haven’t really announced anything yet for Wii U, but for 3DS we had Liberation Maiden… consoles from Nintendo are always very important to us.”

He adds, “I guess what’s more important is the video game itself and not the platform it’s on, and I think it’s really important to be able to have the chance to play all kinds of different games – not just mega AAA titles but indie games too.”

Suda51 believes that the games industry is moving towards a future where indie games become more important as smaller teams get access to development tools that become ever more powerful.

At the moment, Suda51 and his team are working on a new title called Lily Bergamo which will be launched on the PlayStation 4 from Sony at an undisclosed date.

Liberation Maiden SIN is also set to be launched on the PS3.

Suda51’s greatest hits were the two No More Heroes titles, which were both launched on Nintendo made home consoles and used their unique hardware features.

They were both praised for their irreverent stories, their unique combat mechanics and their mix of Japanese and European themes.

His most recent title is Killed Is Dead, which was launched on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 and failed to impress fans of critics.
