Video game developer Goichi Suda, best known for his work on No More Heroes, says that the speed of the PlayStation 4 from Sony is the element of the new home console that makes it special to develop titles for.

In a Famitsu interview translated by Siliconera he explains that, “As a video game console, that’s the part the stood out to me the most for the PlayStation 4. We make games, so we want to make them fun, and we also put a lot of effort into making them as appealing as possible. In order to do that, we need hardware that can show ‘speed’.”

The developer is probably referring to the fact that it is easy to test out new ideas on the PlayStation 4, which in turn allows his team to create complex experience faster than on any other platform.

At the moment Suda 51 is working on a new title called Lily Bergamo, which was born out of a discussion between developer Grasshopper and new parent company GungHo Entertainment.

The game creator adds, “I’ve been keeping an eye on the PS4 from its early stages, and decided to challenge this platform, so we decided to develop it for PS4.”

The game experience is designed to highlight all the unique elements of the new Sony console, with a unique app that will enable a second screen experience and interest uses for the touch pad that is included in the DualShock 4.

Lily Bergamo is supposed to be launched at some point in 2014 but the team has not offered any details on the story or the core game mechanics, but it will offer an super action driven experience.

It’s likely to use the unique style of Suda 51, which can be seen in titles like Killer Is Dead, No More Heroes or Killer 7.
