The male deer supposedly wished to intimidate its competitors

Only recently, amateur wildlife photographer Mark Smith succeeded in taking some very impressive pictures of a buck in Richmond Park, south west London.

Thus, the animal just decided that the best way to scare off any potential rivals - and make sure the females all focused on it - was to dress up its antlers with the help of leaves.

Mark Smith explained that, “As soon as he came up from the bracken wearing this great headdress, the other males just went running. I have been photographing deer for four years and know this happens, but I have never seen anything like this before.”

Apparently, this particular buck is somewhere between 8-10 years old, and one of the park's most impressive deer specimens, seeing how it weighs about 200 kilograms (roughly 440 pounds).
