For years, Crystal Renn has been fashion’s darling, regardless whether she was a size 0 or a plus-size model. Now, she’s finally getting the recognition she’s due, by landing her first ever cover for fashion bible Vogue magazine.

Granted, she’s not yet on the cover of the US version, but she’s definitely getting there, word online has it.

The model, now slimmer and, some say, more catwalk-ready than ever, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the April 2011 issue of Vogue Mexico, as Style Bistro points out.

“24-year-old former plus size model Crystal Renn is sporting orange, hot spring 2011 color on cover page of Mexican Vogue, which is her first major international cover as well,” the e-zine writes.

“Photographed by David Roemer, Crystal is showing off her curves by striking a pose in a long-sleeved, formfitting orange sheath accessorized with statement rings and flawless makeup,” Style Bistro adds.

Indeed, the spread is nothing short of eye-popping. Renn is seen in bright, neon colors and colorful eye makeup, while rocking a set of loose curls and various retro-looking accessories.

Above everything, what makes Renn stand out more from the rest of the other supermodels is her attitude, again, regardless of what size she may be at one time or another.

As she put it herself a while back, in a video made by and for her modeling agency, size has nothing to do with beauty, which is why she never loses hope that the media and the industry would, one day, stop telling her how she should be, thin or heavy.

“I think that by placing a title on my head – which is plus size – and the picture that people have placed in their mind about what plus size is – I’ll basically fail you just with that. Because I couldn’t possibly live up to that,” she said, as we also informed you at the time.

“It’s about individual health. You cannot tell if someone’s healthy, or where they are mentally from what’s going on on the outside – because health is different for everybody. At different sizes,” Renn added of her own perception of health and, ultimately, beauty.
