Interpret, a new media research firm, has conducted a research on what mobile phone functions the iPhone owners use when compared to regular handset users. Results show that those who have just purchased Apple's handset use most of its evolved functions at a much larger extent than other mobile phone owners.

Many people buy an expensive device packed with all the latest capabilities only for the satisfaction of owning one, but end up using only some of its performances on a low basis. They don't want 3G because they will actually use it frequently, but because it is one of the most evolved performance coming from a mobile phone and it shows the fact that they own the latest technology. The same goes for many features, including mobile TV.

The high number of new iPhone owners have purchased this device without having to seriously test it before but rather for the craze it has managed to generate. This makes its owners stand in the same line as those who buy technology and not a specific product or function.

Still, taking your new iPhone home, the one you have been waiting for so long, it is only natural that you test it. You flip it over, browse its entire menu and try to find out why everybody has gotten excited for.

Interpret has revealed that in the short period of time that the new iPhone owners had the chance to use this handset, they used its capabilities on a basis above average. More than 60 percent of them used the widescreen to watch video, compared to less than 30 percent of people on other cell phones. More than half of iPhone users watched a YouTube video on the device, about 45 percent watched a music video, while more than 30 percent watched the news or a movie trailer on the phone.

These high percentages seem to have changed the moment when these people bought an iPhone. Before this, few of them have used these evolved capabilities from other mobile phones. The greatest leap has been made for watching mobile video on handsets and has high chances of encouraging this use on other handsets too from now on.
