Electronic Arts has announced that it plans to include the real-life Strikeforce as the premier league in the MMA videogame EA Sports is set to release in the coming year. The publisher has also said that Brett Rogers and Jake Shields should be featured in the game and will reproduce the fights in which they took part on the November 7 cross over between Strikeforce and M-1 Global.

The two huge figures add to the already pretty impressive line up of MMA, which was announced to include global superstar Fedor Emelianenko and a host of other respected and capable fighters from various promotions.

Dale Jackson, who is an executive producer on the game, stated that “We are very excited to be working with STRIKEFORCE and feature them as a premier league in our game. They have a wealth of mixed martial arts expertise, put on great shows and have a great stable of top-notch fighters. Together we look forward to growing the sport and delivering an immersive interactive gaming experience.”

The president of Strikeforce has also said that he is interested in seeing his fighters depicted realistically in a MMA videogame and that he hopes this will offer his promotion more visibility. He has not mentioned whether all the fighters he presides over will be making an appearance or whether Electronic Arts is only using those already well known by the public.

Brett Rogers is a very tough fighter who knocked out Andrei Arlovski in 22 seconds in the first round of their fight. Jake Shields is a fighter from California, who has a record of 23 – 4 – 1 and holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. They are joining other fighters like Jason “Mayhem” Miller and Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal from Strikeforce in the EA MMA game slated to be released in 2010.
