British independent studio Born Ready Games has released its space combat sim Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut, landing on the Xbox One next-gen platform from Microsoft and on the PlayStation 4 home entertainment system from Sony, as well as on Steam for PC.

Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut will be the first game to be released under the ID@Xbox label, a new initiative from Microsoft intended to enable independent game makers both small and large to produce and self-publish digital games on the Xbox One in a much more streamlined and accessible manner.

Strike Suit Zero is set in the future, in the year 2299, and players are thrown in the midst of a merciless interstellar war. You have to take control of a revolutionary fighter craft with the ability to transform into a lethal suit of space armor in a desperate bid to save Earth from destruction.

The game delivers massive space battles, with gargantuan fleets and fast-paced dogfighting, allowing players to lend a hand in the shaping of the cosmos.

Gamers will have to take on intelligent opponents and take part in the destruction of colossal enemy capital ships by exploiting weak points in their super-structure to blow them out of the sky.

Players will be able to upgrade their ships as well as to customize the entire weapon loadout in order to tailor combat strategy to their own preferences.

Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut delivers the ultimate Strike Suit Zero experience for the latest generation of gaming consoles, coming with all-new ship models and greatly enhanced textures and lighting technology, as well as a restructured campaign mode.

The game also comes with two additional Strike Suits, the deadly Marauder and the nimble Raptor, as well as an additional campaign titled Heroes of the Fleet.

Moreover, Strike Suit Zero features highly detailed mecha and spaceship designs created by renowned mecha designer Junji Okubo, best known for his work on Steel Battalion and Appleseed, and a superb atmospheric score created by Paul Ruskay, who also composed the music for the legendary space strategy title Homeworld, and Kokia, known for the scores of the role-playing game Tales of Innocence and the animated film Origins: Spirits of the Past.

Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut goes for £15.99 / €19.99 / $28 on Xbox One, £15.39 / €17.99 / $25 on PlayStation 4, and £14.99 / €18.99 / $26 on PC.
