The team at Capcom in charge of Street Fighter V is announcing that it is planning to introduce a special online beta testing program for it, designed to make sure that the quality of the experience is solid on launch, and that the new title in the long-running fighting game series will include Charlie Nash as a combatant.

The studio says that the fighter has been a fan favorite since he was mentioned in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and one of Guile’s best friends.

In the Alpha series, Charlie Nash was shown as being attacked by Bison and presumed dead, but he is returning with a range of new moves and he will also have access to the Sonic Boom attack.

The images attached to this article show some of the attacks that fans will be able to use in order to take out enemies in combat.

Capcom also hints at some interesting twists and turns for the character in the story mode of the coming Street Fighter V.

The fighting game will offer beta testing for those who pre-order

The beta program for Street Fighter V is designed to test the infrastructure and the mechanics of the online component.

For previous releases, the series had trouble with latency and solving it is probably high up on the priority list for the coming installment.

The official announcement states, "These tests will be essential to collect your feedback and to ensure that Street Fighter V is the best iteration yet.  In North America, players who pre-order the game will automatically be enrolled into the beta program. More details, including timing on the beta program will be revealed in the future so stay tuned for updates."

Capcom has not yet offered an official launch date for Street Fighter V, but the game will be delivered on both the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the PC, and cross-platform play is set to be included.

The developers have said that they are introducing some solid tweaks to the core combat mechanics and that the graphics will be powered by Unreal Engine 4.
