It seems that video game developer and publisher Capcom is at the moment aiming to launch the new Street Fighter V on both the PlayStation 4 home console and the PC simultaneously at some point in the spring of next year.

The information was dropped by the company in the comments section of a thread which talked about the cool merchandise associated with the series which was offered during the PAX East 2015 event.

The publisher has quickly seen its mistake and deleted the launch date information, but it appears it was not fast enough as some sites, like EventHubs, have managed to capture screenshots showing the official text.

It states, "Everyone is fired up for Street Fighter 5 coming to the PS4 and PC next Spring. Until then, you can sport the official SF5 key art T-shirt, which features Ryu in a heroic pose, for $25."

Capcom has not offered any other statement about the deleted comment.

Street Fighter V is set to offer cross-platform play between the PlayStation 4 and the PC and the company is also saying that it will conduct a beta test later in 2015 in order to make sure the functionality works as intended.

For those living in North America, placing a pre-order will mean that they will be enrolled in the testing, and no info was offered on how fans in Europe will be able to get into the beta.

Street Fighter V delivers new characters, improved mechanics

Capcom has already been offering details on the characters that gamers will be able to use in Street Fighter V, which include some classic combatants but also fan favorites that have received limited attention in the past few years.

The title will be created using Unreal Engine 4, but Capcom has said that the core 2D nature of the series will not be changed in any way.

The company has also assured players that it wants to create some interesting storylines for fans to explore and that the core fighting game mechanics are being tweaked in order to reach a bigger audience, a need that is balanced with the needs of long-term fans.
