Glu Mobile, one of the leading publishers of mobile games, recently announced its original title, Stranded, has won the Most Innovative Mobile Game Award at the Gameshadow Innovation Awards 2006.

Stranded was chosen as the winner from eight mobile games nominated and was recognized as the "most enjoyable and innovative mobile game of the last 18 months" according to Gameshadow's judges.

"It's an honor to have our hard work and passion for creating great mobile games recognized by Gameshadow," said Greg Ballard, president and CEO, Glu Mobile. "This award is a testament to the strength and creativity of our development team in making compelling original titles."

Gameshadow said Stranded is "ambitious in scope, with a narrative thread unseen before in a mobile game... This is a game that in storyline and premise is strong enough to work on any platform; on mobile, it's superbly executed to stretching the platform while playing to its strengths. This is one island I was reluctant to leave."

"We're pleased to have received this award for Stranded," commented Kim Daniel Arthur, executive producer, EMEA, Glu Mobile. "We set out to create a game that takes advantage of the mobile phone as a gaming platform and creates an innovative, expansive gaming experience, and most of all, a game that people love to play. We feel we've accomplished that with Stranded, and this award recognizes the hard work that went into creating the title."

Stranded gives gamers a unique interactive storyline that incorporates a 24-hour clock that applies the actual time of day to the time in the game in order to reveal an array of surprises in different environments. As the story unravels, pieces of the puzzle emerge and players soon discover that not everyone can be trusted.
